Hi! Yes—I’m currently accepting new students. All skill levels, musical backgrounds, genres, and instruments are welcome.

If you're interested in exploring your creativity and developing your own artistic voice, I offer one-to-one and group lessons that go beyond traditional music instruction. Rather than focusing only on repetition, technique, or reading sheet music, we build from the skills you already have and learn new ones through making things together.

Lessons are project-based and can include writing and recording original songs, producing music in a Digital Audio Workspace or DAW, creating music videos, making field recordings, exploring graphic scores, designing zines and artist books, composing for performance, and combining music with visual art in imaginative ways.

The goal is to learn by creating—developing new skills while making work that feels personal, meaningful, and fun.

Every student starts in a different place, so that's where we begin. We'll get to know each other through playful, exploratory projects that help us discover what you're drawn to, what you're curious about, and how you naturally like to create.

As we work together, we'll build on the skills you already have while learning new ones through making things—whether that's writing a song, recording music, improvising, creating graphic scores, making a music video, or following an idea that emerges along the way. Lessons are collaborative, student-led, and designed to support creative confidence through doing.

My lessons focus on creativity, curiosity, and making rather than following a set curriculum. Instead of working toward the same goals in the same way, we'll shape each lesson around your interests, ideas, and creative instincts.

For some students that might mean writing and recording original music. For others, it could be improvising, exploring sound in nature, creating graphic scores, making videos, or combining music with visual art. The goal is to develop your skills by creating work that feels meaningful, personal, and enjoyable.

Lesson fees include our time together, personalized lesson planning, project development, and any preparation needed to support your creative goals.

Lessons can take place online, in my studio, or in your home (where available). Travel within my local area is included. A small travel fee may apply for lessons outside my regular service area.

Absolutely! While my primary instruments are saxophone and voice, I welcome students who play any instrument—or none at all.
